I would love to open source all of it. And there is a pretty good chance that will happen. I'll certainly blog about it if were to happen - so watch this space so to speak.

With that said about 1/3rd of the code in Obama 08 came from my already OpenSource repository of iPhone source code: http://code.google.com/p/touchcode/

a) No. None of us were paid.
b) Nothing.

The "Paid for" line in the credits is just there for legal reasons. We really had very little choice if we wanted to the official campaign iPhone app. Personally I would have preferred "Produced by" or something. See http://www.fec.gov/law/feca/feca.shtml

The Credits claim that that app is "Paid for by Obama for America".

In the interests of accountability and openness, can you please tell us if:

(a) you were paid for your work on this application, and

(b) what "Obama for America" actually paid for?

In other words, was this a volunteer project, or not?

The app is well done. Small niggle: your here apostrophe is actually an open quote. You want this: '08
